When to Follow Up on Sales Emails (Using Tracking Data)

The Science of Timing

Timing is everything in sales. A follow-up sent 5 minutes after an open is 10x more effective than one sent at random.

1. The 'Hot Open'

When you see a notification that your proposal was opened, wait 2-3 minutes. This ensures they've actually read it before you jump in.

2. Multi-Open Analysis

If someone opens your email 5 times in 2 hours, they are highly interested. This is your signal to call or send a direct message.

3. The 3-Day Rule

If there's no open after 3 days, it's time for a slight 'bump' email with a different subject line.
